Cottage Garden complete with Artficial Lawn and Koi Pond
This garden, before we started work was your typical terrace cottage garden, it had little character and because space was limited nothing had really been done. But with the installation of a Raised Koi Carp Pond, complete with stream and Glass window to view the fish swimming, Artficial Lawn, for low maintenance, and a Vegatble Patch the garden has been transformed into a garden to be admired.....
Whole Garden View
This picture shows the majority of the garden. You can clearly see the glass window on the front of the pond, as well as how real the Artficial Lawn looks and the great effect it creates.
Glass Viewing Window
This is a close up of the Window on the front of the Koi Pond. This window is a novel touch which not only allows to see you fish under the water, giving a rare side on view, but also makes the pond less enclosed and softens the effect of a raised pond.
Artificial Lawn
This close up of "fake grass" shows you how authentic it looks. This is short cut grass, with brown shades mixed in to create a more natural look. The thing to remember is this will look like this 365 days a year with no effort!
This image also shows the meandering path leading to the rear of the garden. This was laid with Natural Stone to match the pond and is broken up with granite blocks.
Artificial Lawn and Raised Vegetable Patch
Another close up of the "fake lawn", this time showing where it meets the Raised Vegetable Patch, a must for a character filled cottage garden!
Water Outlet
This is the water outlet at the rear of the pond that has been made into a feature. The water leaves the pond here, travels down the stream where the pump is situated (disguised under Caledonian Rainbow Pebbles). The pump sucks the water out and into the filter which is hidden away in the shed. The water is then pumped back under ground and into the pond via the water feature, in this case an old fashioned water pump, which fits in with the character of this 19th century cottage.
Stream and Water Feature
Here is the afore mentioned Water Feature and Stream. You will notice that all pipes etc are completely hidden.
